The shrink ratio, in plain terms

The shrink ratio indicates how much the sleeve tightens under heat. A 2:1 ratio halves the diameter; a 3:1 ratio divides it by three.

In practice, the higher the ratio, the wider the range of diameters a single sleeve can cover. The 3:1 ratio is therefore ideal when your cables vary widely in cross-section, or to cover connectors and junctions. If in doubt, our experts will point you to the right ratio.
